Noi River Descent 2011

This kayak tour consists of six tracks along the Noi River, an old stretch of the Chao Phraya River. The original Chao Phraya (now referred to as the Chao Phraya Noi) flowed west of its present course beginning just north of the Chai Nat Dam and running via Sankha Buri and Phrom Buri to Ang Thong. The river breached a wall in its western bank near Ang Thong running to Bang Sai via Wiset Chai Chan, Phak Hai, and Sena - this is at present the course of the Noi River. The Chao Phraya between Chainat and Ang Thong silted up and shifted to the east to nearly its present channel via In Buri and Sing Buri to Ang Thong; the river was deviated in 1857 to the city of Ayutthaya.
